REQUEST FOR PRESENTERS

Each year SCAVA hosts a winter conference to provide members with high quality professional development opportunities specifically related to volunteer resource management. The SCAVA Annual Conference Committee would like to request proposals of workshops that are educational and engaging. In addition to new and experienced volunteer resource practitioners, the audience will represent non-profit, government and for profit organizations that have volunteers or an interest in developing volunteer programs.  

Focus areas: In addition to new and experienced volunteer resource management topics, presenters with expertise of issues relevant to specific volunteer programs or partnerships are invited to submit proposals. Possible focus areas may include Management of Human Resources, Planning & Program Development, Professional Development, Organization & Management of Services, Health and Wellness, Corporate Volunteer Programs, Disaster Planning and Volunteer roles, Economic Development and Opportunity, Education, Environment, Government, Human Services, Community Engagement/Partnerships, Generations, Cultural Competency, etc.

To assure a timely process, please provide all requested information and complete all fields accurately. Required information is identified with an *. If the proposed information is selected for presentation the information provided will appear in conference publications.

Conference sessions, times and presenters will be identified, prioritized and confirmed by mid August 2012 presenter confirmations will be sent by email, indicating the date and time of the workshop. All presenters are doing so voluntarily and will not receive any payment for their presentation or other expenses associated with the presentation. 

If the session is selected, presenters will be responsible for:

  • PRESENTATIONS: All session presentations are 90 minutes. Presentations (PowerPoints) must be submitted electronically to SCAVA by December 15, 2012. SCAVA will make all presentations available to attendees on the SCAVA website following the conference.
  • HANDOUTS: Any duplication of handouts to provide for participants if presenter desires.
  • TRAVEL and LODGING
