2012 South Carolina Governor's Volunteer Awards

 

Governor Nikki R. Haley, the South Carolina Association for Volunteer Administration and the United Way Association of South Carolina will present the 2012 South Carolina Governor’s Volunteer Awards in May at the South Carolina State House at 1101 Gervais Street in downtown Columbia.  The awards recognize exceptional service by community volunteers and volunteer administrators. 

Nominations for the awards may be submitted by non-profit agencies, community organizations, schools, and other government agencies throughout the state.  The award winners are selected by a panel of professional volunteer administrators representing various areas of volunteerism.

Nominations are due by midnight, March 16, 2012.

The 2011 awards were presented to:

  • Community Leader Award – James Coffas, Columbia
  • Direct Service Volunteer Award – Andy Broughton, Columbia
  • Volunteer Group Award – CARES Clinic, Charleston
  • Youth Individual Volunteer Award – Brooklynn Myers, Greenville
  • Family Volunteer Award – The Gardner Family, Charleston
  • Workplace Volunteer Award – Palmetto Health, Columbia
  • Legacy Volunteer Award – David Beasley, Charleston
  • Robin Burns Volunteer Administrator Award – Karen Stalvey, Columbia
