2012 South Carolina Governor's Volunteer Awards
Governor Nikki R. Haley, the South Carolina Association for Volunteer Administration and the United Way Association of South Carolina presented the 2012 South Carolina Governor’s Volunteer Awards in April at the South Carolina State House at 1101 Gervais Street in downtown Columbia. The awards recognize exceptional service by community volunteers and volunteer administrators.
Nominations for the awards were by non-profit agencies, community organizations, schools, and other government agencies throughout the state. The award winners were selected by a panel of professional volunteer administrators representing various areas of volunteerism.
The 2012 awards were presented to:
- Community Leader Award – Elizabeth Nista, Charleston
- Direct Service Volunteer Award – David Partin, Camden
- Volunteer Group Award – The SCE&G Canady's Station Employees Peanut Gang, Charleston
- Youth Individual Volunteer Award – Pamela Reynolds, Greenville
- Family Volunteer Award – Anna Lorraine Holmes and Delores Diggs, Charleston
- Workplace Volunteer Award – Charleston Water System, Charleston
- Legacy Volunteer Award – Nova Buchanan, Columbia
- Robin Burns Volunteer Administrator Award – Mary Dell Hayes, Columbia
